Expansion of Primary Health Care in the Madrid district of Hay-Nouadhibou
The overall objective of this project is to contribute to improving people’s health and increase the quality and accessibility to primary health care for the population of the district of Hay Madrid. This leads to the construction and equipping of a health center to replace the current, expanding the staff to be able to offer the basic package of primary care (pre and post natal consultation, family planning, general consultation, treatment, vaccination and pharmacy), and ability to perform specialized services to evacuations in emergencies.
The building that currently houses the health post is very deteriorated, but we will try to rehabilitate with the aim of expanding the activities of the users of the center in the future and provide a space for storage. It also has two bathrooms with septic tank users to / as the center, and that so far remain closed, and we intend to begin utilizados.Se also provides training in basic aspects of management of the center to ensure the smooth functioning of same, and the launch of a pharmacy that allows easy access to essential medicines. n Completion of the assistance is to design and implement a program of health education activities, to give to the population patterns that contribute to disease prevention and health promotion in their immediate environment.
Staff training will take place on the job in two phases: a parallel to the construction work for the staff already working in the center and begin to function when the new services.
